New essential analysis equipment for Quality Control has been installed in FIELD-LAB. This equipment will be used to perform measurements on isotopes, produced by FIELD-LAB in the near future, to establish if the isotope is up to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and, consequently, can be used in patients.

The universities will be involved in a project on cisplatin to improve existing treatment and to find out why it might not be as effective in all patients. Medical isotope offers great perspective for the effective treatment of various cancer indications with limited side effects
Thanks to intensive collaboration between Curium and NRG, a complex project has been brought to a successful conclusion: the development and installation of a production process for the medical isotope Xenon-133.
Every day, 30.000 patients benefit from medical isotopes from Petten. The NRG reactor, where the medical isotopes are irradiated, changed its fuel to low-enriched uranium in 2006.
The official launch of FIELD-LAB took place on February 6, 2019 in Petten. A unique collaboration to benefit a wide range of patients.
